You are my new inspiration
Placed so perfectly in my path
Distracting me from my imminent self destruction
Your story
Your subtle intelligence
Realigned my world with things
That only make sense
In light of love
But so many heavy implications
Have got to be caustic
To fresh bonds and strange flesh
You ignore my reservations
With the insistence that we are
Meant to be
Or at least meant to explore
A world outside of our so ordinary existences
You’ve navigated my cerebral hemispheres
While your eyes discovered
The contours of my body
You’ve made me remember
What good feels like
Without even having to touch me
And tomorrow
When our roads diverge
I will remember you
And not just because you called
Or someone mentioned your name
Or it’s time to check in
But because you are you
And that’s hard to forget

I like how the feel weaves between reality and possibility…
I get the sense of freedom yearned as well…
Good stuff!
Thanks for commenting. This is such a personal poem, which is why I put it on here. I wanted to share a real part of myself with the world, and see how it was perceived. I am thankful for you kind words.
Aww shucks…
Damn good poem…love is not easily (with truth) expressed through words. But I believe you were successful and authentic in your pursuit.
Thank you for your kind words…it’s easier to write love poems and be authentic about it when you’re actually in love!!
