NaNoWriMo: Thought I’d Give it a Try

Anybody who has read my earlier post or my profile of 20 something blogger know that I dream to be a writer. Not just the kind that writes poetry every once in a while or keep a current blog.

But a real calloused fingered, caffeine-addicted, up all night-er writer (I wasn’t trying to rhyme on purpose).

I in between classes at the moment and don’t have time to write up all the particulars but basically, to win the National Novel Writing Month I have to write a 50,000 word novel by the end of November. But the real challenge will be trying to do as I begin preparing for finals for nursing school.

And, if you’re current you may be skeptical of me taking on such a huge challenge at this time in my life, but I have to start somewhere right?

Well, off to class I go….

  1. Wow @ ur ambition and I wish u masses and MASSES of luck with that! U just made me feel so lazy because I put off stretching myself like that because, well, I guess I’m being lazy.

    • Let’s not call it being lazy. Let’s call it creative stalling.

Thanks, thanks and more thanks for the support and comments. Please visit me again sometimes. And trust me it took a long to before I was able to be this dedicated and focused on my endeavors, and I’m still not all the way there. We are all lazy sometimes, but a time will come when you want something a whole lot more than that afternoon nap (Cuz I know I loves me an afternoon nap or two!!)

  2. Good luck. I love having my safety net of re-reading, re-drafting, re-working, etc etc. so I would find 50,000 words in a month a massively challenge since I’d have to cut back on all of that.

I’ve noticed a few bloggers last posts have been about NaNoWriMo and they have been oddly silent since. Either the time needed to write 50,000 words has stopped them blogging so frequently or perhaps the effort has killed them.

  3. Thanks for taking the time to visit. Yeah it’s been kinda rough and I hit a rough patch so I don’t know as of yet if I’m going to make it and if I do it will probably not be worth much…studying for finals, writing a novel and being in a rough relationship all at the same time probably was not the best situation….

  4. Good luck with your nursing finals. My ex graduated from nursing school and add that with the state board tests, and I feel like I attended with her. LOL.

    • Yeah…it can be pretty stress. She is lucky to have someone that supports her so much. This is my first semester so hopefully I will be where she is in a few years!!!! * My bf can probably relate with you. *
